experienced ships can become unstoppable

I was playing apocalypse campaign mission at tough level.Dread Lords were a true pain for me and my coalition because every time i took one of their planets after 4-5 turns they managed to retake the planet very easily so in the middle of the game i was very pessimist about winning the mission. After i discovered some techs to enable the construction of large hulls and better beam weapon (sorry but i don't remember the techs) i was able to build a ship which couldn't stand to powerful dreadlords ship but in a fleet of 4 of them could easily destroy these organic ships. The ship had an initial beam attack of 16 46 HP and 12 movement. At the beginning my combined attack of 64 was able to wipe out these ships without any hit to hitpoints and with 12 movement my fleet could do multiple attacks for turn.Dreadlord after Dreadlord my ships were so experienced that they got 612 HP each which is useless to say that they were unstoppable. So shouldn't be better if experience could be capped at a max to double initial HP or at least be tuned down?My ships had HP of nearly 15 times than at the beginning

I agree, I'm winning most of my games just because of that, medium hulls, not-so-strong weapons so i have to be raly carefull, sometimes take the ship out of the fleet, put it on a planet for faster repairs...and when they reach above 100HP I have better tech, so i make better medium-hull ship and just upgrade my LVL30 ships... they are realy unstopable... HP should realy be capped to double-of XP or something...

There just needs to be a diminishing returns mechanic, like in every other game that uses experience. Units should gain experience quickly at first, then increasingly slowly over time. In GC2, there seems to be a pause before a unit gains any experience, then it gains at a constant rate per battle. This translates to an accerating rate per turn, as the unit get tougher and tougher it can take more of beating and is targetted less often in fleets, so it can engage in more battles between repairs.

Probably it could be also exploitable for the metaverse because i noticed that the best way to have superships like it is having ships which are balanced between speed and weapons, because while having 32 attack instead of 16 is better; engines assure that you can do multiple attacks at turn so your ships will be quickly overpowered.Fighting with Dreadlords was like shooting on the red croos imagine if instead of Dreadlords there were other races
