Good vs. Evil...which is the way to go?

Are the extra weapons of Evil better or the defenses of Good?

How about neutral?

Neutral provides with rather. . . well, neutral bonuses. Trade, research, some trade items, tourism. If you're planning on being the economic super-power, then Neutral is probably the best choice. I haven't tried Good or Evil, myself. I'm usually too poor early on to go for Good and am too nice a guy to go for Evil.

I really hate to make evil choices and my nature is to nearly always be neutral. However as I move up in difficulty in big map games some of the evil choices are hard to pass up. I am currently in a game on a giantic map with all the other races at the challenging level. Having gotten a good start, I have made some horrible choices (slavery) to increase production etc by substantial percentages. I fear that I have come too far to turn back and I am totally on the dark side for the first time. When the ethics choice comes It will break me to choose neutral

I tell myself it's only a game.

Evil wins, baby, because good... is dumb.

I really enjoy being an evil overlord while going for an influence victory, because all those with trade routes through my territory (which is to say, all those with trade routes), must pay me tribute for their use.

Sure, it's not much when compared to the huge tourism you're getting, BUT it comes out of their pockets, which makes it far sweeter to spend.

thats why if i have enough economic reasources i usually bystep nutral and unleash my bad side although i still feel qualms about choosing bad stuff like slavery and allowing drugs in the game maybe its becuase i have an overreactive consicience but if u ask me thats a good thing

Have too say that it is good too be bad... you get more bonuses early on, but the other good aligned races (and there r quite a few) will brook none of your behaviour l8r on... Oh and Velvet Devil "May the shwartch be with you..."

Good is where its at.
When ( if ) you ever get the good temple built, you basicly win.

the things that you can aquire from the other races via diplomatic channels leads me to belive that the "good" temple is just a huge mind controll ray that you can point at various people and say "You want to give me this becuase im such a nice guy." you essentially buy all the techs that the comps have for next to nothing.

And if your the type who like to kill everything on the map, you can use you "mind controll ray" to get them to declare war on each other, and then mop up whatever happens to be left.

anyone who likes the awsome diplomacy engine in this game needs to build the good temple at leaste once and witness its awsomeness...

Well.. I tend to still be "jury is still out" on the subject.. I think its as feasible to be one or the other what style suits you best..

I will also admit, even if I try to be good I still end up selling my soul off for a few more tiles ( the ones with the + PQ )

I have'nt been Nuetral or Evil yet. I only just found out that in order to get the benefits and that you must research Xeno Ethics. Though if I had to guess i'd say go Evil for the Conquer the Galaxy approach, Good for Alliance victory, and Neutral for Influence Victory.

Evil, every single time. And since I start out with the Yor and am halfway towards evil it doesn't cost me any BC to pick evil, sweet.

Neutral is ok, the extra trade routes is nice and opening up a few tiles is nice, but it pales in comparison to the evil weapons. I mean if you haven't tried evil yet, go straight up the missiles waepon tree and hit evil and man oh man, Psionnic torps will rip apart anything in your path. Now that I think about it, those evil weapons should really be nerfed. As the above poster said, once you grab any of the evil weapons, you win the game.

Good? Evil? Hah! Double hah! Neutral is the best. Those free terraformed tiles are just WAY too awesome. You gain the power of three levels of technology in one, plus you gain access to a beautiful extra few trade routes. AND you have an added advantage when you invade the worlds anyone who ISN'T neutral! Good and Evil might offer extra defenses or weapons, but you still have to research those. What amounts to free tech? Absolutely awesome!
Not that Evil is bad. I've played the Korx enough to know that Evil is profitable [which fits them, don't you think?]...but honestly, getting Soil Enhancement, Habitat Improvement, and Terraforming for "free" [no need to research them, thus tech doesn't get as expensive as if you did research them!] is just something that can't be beat when one's in doubt of what to choose.
