Alliances

Hello everybody, I am wondering how you go about forming alliances, I researched the alliance research and it said that I could now make alliances, however I can't figure out how to do it. Do I have to build something else or research something else? Any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

You can only ally with other civs whose relation to you is rated as "Close". When you get to that point, you can ask them to ally with you in the diplomacy screen.

I think you have to be at friendly or similar respect level with them. Then it lights up as an option allong with surrender and attack.

This seems to be what happened in my game, im guessing this is what triggered it

That's strange. I was Close with the Terrans and Wary with the Yor yet I still couldn't ally myself with the Terrans for that excuse I needed to neutralize the Yor threat. Had Alliances and even gifted the Alliances tech to the Terrans to try to pull it off.

I ended up just declaring war against the Yor after they devoured the Terrans. But still, it would've been far more enjoyable to fight with an ally. Especially to stab him in the back afterwards.
