Ship Texture Problem

When I watch the tutorial videos for GalCiv II, the ships look awesome, very detailed and textured. However, when I play the game, the ships are all very smooth with no detail. They have lighting and shading effects, but no detail textures. I checked my video options, and I don't see anything checked that would make this so. Is anyone else having this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it so my ships look like they should in the videos? Thanks!

its proly your GC...I had the same problem, then i went and bought a new GC....and pooof, ala textures, and lights

btw... I had a GeForce 4 MX series....now i have a GeForce 6200.....NIGHT N DAY difference

Does your graphics card have pixel shaders and vertex shaders? If it's a GeForce4 MX440 as my spider sense tells me, it does not. That will cut way back into your card's graphical sophistication capabilities.

I'd recommend upgrading to something newer. I have the same problem, and I will be.

6600GT is only 120 at www.newegg.com and well worth the money very nice midrange card for a gamer on a bugdet just dont try and play large galaxy with all the graphics turned on it gets kinda slow once there is 100s of ships in the game
