What is the error exactly?

It sounds possible that it might be an overheating problem. If you don't play for a while, and then start playing from your save and it doesn't error for a long while it could be that your graphics card is over heating, a few people have had similar problems.

Otherwise you need to give more info, what machine are you running it on, what is the error, when does it happen...

How much RAM is in your system? Check your paging file for virtual memory size and make sure that it's set high enough; at least 1.5 times the amount of RAM you are using. Some folks even prefer setting it to 2x the physical amount of RAM.

Without much else on the sort of error and sys specs, it's a guessing game. Good luck my friend

1) All caps and multiple puncuation marks are lame. AM I RITE LOLZ!!!!!!!!

2) Complaining of a problem you make *no effort* to explain whatsoever is lame.

3) Giving no information about your setup makes it impossible for anyone to help you.

It looks to me like there is a rather large memory leak in the game, I'm sure it will be fixed soon. Thats why I save, quit and load it back up every couple of hours when I'm playing a marathon session.

AThimND , you serious? A crash that only you and one other person, who hasn't even given us any info on the problem is experiencing a proble, where many many others aren't, and so it is therefore a memory leak? If there was a memeory leak that occurs during standard play, then surely everyone else would be experiencing the same problems?

could it possibly be, maybe just slightly, not be the games fault?

I've actually never had a problem like this. I've got 2Gb of RAM, and lately I've been constantly switching in and out to control iTunes.

No, wait. I remember the few really long sessions I've had, having CTDs. Hurm. I've never checked the memory usage - a memory leak would certainly give this kind of behaviour. Also, if I'm using iTunes, I get the 'stuck mouse cursor' issue much, much more often (although sometimes only for a moment).

That is probably iTunes fault. Some programs don't respond well to having a full screen program running at the same time

Yes it would. So would an overheating graphics card, swap memory being too small (although with 2Gig you probably never even make it to the swap), A power shortage, an invalid memory reference in the game code, an exit command in the code, old graphics drivers, dodgy RAM, 300 other things... A memory leak is only one of many many possibilities, and there is no evidence at the moment that would suggest any single problem over any other. (Obviously there is *a* problem somewhere if you are getting CTD, but just guessing isn't going to help)

Yeah, I simply use too much open source software, and memory leaks are probably the number one program problem I encounter. I've never seen a problem with iTunes before, though, and it's minimised anyway. Time to start logging memory usage!
