Good question ...

Also, does anyone know where I can lay my hands on the original MOO2 music?

The Dune movie soundtrack is pretty good, I used that in GCI.

If you can find it, the music for Ascendancy was excellent. A very epic, gritty sci-fi feel.

Babylon 5 had a couple soundtracks released back in the day.

I imagine you could hop on Amazon.com and find soundtracks to every series your heat desires.

The Star Control 2 music might also be good. Here's a link that has a bunch of remixes. (Bottom of the page.)

Great MOO2 site!

By the way, this might be a stupid question, but how exactly are you guys able to use MP3's in-game? I know the manual says the option was going to be included, but I can't figure out how to enable it.

'The Planets' by Holst. The original space themed music.

Which John Williams liberally plagiarised from when he did the music for the original Star Wars.

I don't know about "getting a whole chest"of anything, especially if you're looking to get stuff for free, but the Battlestar Galactica (new series) soundtrack for the miniseries and season one are out. I own and highly recommend buying both of them. I've already incorporated the songs into the music and music event folder myself, and it does greatly improve the experience for me. I do, however, have to disable and then reenable 'background music' in order to get the next background track to play, just of the many, many bugs I hope will be adressed in 1.1
