Illegally downloaded GC2, now am buying it

This isn't something that you talk about really, but I downloaded this game illegally. I have been so impressed with it, and with Stardock and the staff, that I am going out and buying it today.

They were trusting enough not to put any copy protection at all on this game, and they have been constantly fixing and updating it since release, I don't think I'd be able to let myself continue to playing this game if I didn't go out and buy it.

Stardock, great work

I really hope the industry switches to the download model the same way stardock has. It just makes more sense. Any other software we use gets a lot of updates after release. Its just creates much better end product. Paradox is an anther example of a company where I buy any game they make just to support them. They patch until the game is totaly done. I agreee its frustrating to wait for patches some times. But I rather have a deep good game even if I have to do a little bit of the BETA testing. One point to the poster you know that your purchase funds the next game, so if you like the developer support them. If we can pay 60 bucks every month for cable, which has a lot of channels that we dont need, then we can buy a game that will entertain us for more than a month.

All hail Stardock and Paradox games.

Keep up the good work.

Meh, as a former game reviewer and a bit of an "activist" against software piracy, I have to say that you people stink. No, I'm not talking about the pirates, I'm talking about the anti-piracy people. "You scum! You thief! You murderer of innocent gaming souls! You are the main reason for world hunger, wars and politicians!" oh, do shut up...

Yes, piracy is not right. Yes, people should buy the games they like and want to play. But like it or not, software piracy is here to stay, and calling other people names and this whole revolting holier-than-thou crap and the self-righteous attitude is just obnoxious and not helpful. It's because of people like you in the industry that we have those vicious CD protection softwares that do more harm than good.

Stardock is the ONLY company that nailed it. They really made piracy-proof games with their whole regular updates approach. They must know that you can't beat piracy and that beating on your chest like a giant ape doesn't help either, so they chose the most wise decision available. You can see for yourself the result in this thread. And it always makes me happy to see pirates buy the game they like, no matter the reason. Telling them that even eventually buying their game is not right discourages them from doing that, and really has the opposite effect. So next time, please, dear bigots, shut up. Thank you.
