If you got it from the TG.net upgrade, Use that serial.
Also, I think that you may need a stardock account linked email adress, But try your email anyway.
Hi Blue Girl. That definitely is annoying. Sorry about that! I'm going to point this to our IT people to check into. They'll be in in another few hours so hopefully they can figure out the deal with that.
If that doesn't work, I'll put up a link to an EXE that doesn't have the activation in it because frankly, entering in a 28 digit code sounds pretty annoying to me. I thought it was only like 12 digits or something.
No, I'm not sure what it is.
I can think of 4 possibilities:
1) Typed in code wrong. It's 28 characters! Ack!
2) The Database of valid serials hasn't been updated with the second run of CDs yet.
3) There's a database glitch
4) There's a misprint on the label. (very unlikely)
One way or the other, it'll be resolved soon.
I will add that I downloaded Stardock Central and that I'm new to this program. Anyway, the game is listed under "Purchase Software," but a dialog warning appears reading: " Failed to validate your Galatic Civilization 2 registration information." Please verify that you have entered your email address and serial number correctly." Well I've done that to no avail. And I don't recall ever registering before so the email given should be the only one in their database.
Just a thought, but does the serial number differentiate between the letter "O" and the number "0"? I was confused when typing mine in as I had "O"s with no slashes through them, so wasn't sure if the slash convention was being usedor not.

And I bought the game at an EB retail store here in BC Canada.
Ok, the problem has been corrected. A bug was introduced when doing an update to our database system.
Anyway, to get everyone back on track, in Stardock Central, right click on Galactic Civilizations II and choose the option to "Activation Application (w/logging)". That should activate your serial number and all should be well in the universe. If that menu option does not show up then GCII is already activated and no further action should be required.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
