Drengian=Evil
Yor=evil
korx=evil
Torian=good
Alt=good
Drath=Neutral
Thalan=Neutral
Iconian=Neutral
Arcean=good

I beleive these are the defaults.

Terrans are Neutral, too.

Aren't the Arceans said in their description to be Neutral? I have a hard time believing they're Good.

According to the RaceConfig numbers:

Dominion of Korx: 1
Drengin Empire: 1
Yor Collective: 25
Arcean Empire: 50
Iconian Refuge: 50
Terran Alliance: 50
Thalan Empire: 50
Drath Legion: 75
Torian Confederation: 75
Altarian Republic: 99

Which more or less translates out to:

Pure Evil
Dominion of Korx
Drengin Empire

Chaotic Evil
Yor Collective

Neutral
Arcean Empire
Iconian Refuge
Terran Alliance
Thalan Empire

Chaotic Good
Drath Legion
Torian Confederation

Pure Good
Altarian Republic

chaotic evil? chaotic good? what does that even mean? my interpratation would be "they do whatever they want but they're evil (or good). that phrase would not accuratly explain those number ranges. something more descriptive such as evil, less evil, neutral etc. would make much more sense.

It is a D&D thing. Moreover, it's a WRONG D&D thing (the good-evil axis runs perpendicular to the lawful-chaotic axis)!

For "chaotic evil," read "They're semi-evil. They're quasi-evil. They're the margerine of evil. They're the Diet Coke of evil: just one calorie -- not evil enough!"

Hey, don't look at me guys... the Stardock folks are the ones who invented the whole Pure Evil/Chaotic Evil/Neutral/Chaotic Good/Pure Good system... I just applied it.

I'm used to the D&D system myself... I keep catching myself wanting to refer to the Altarians as Lawful Good, for instance.

Thugnme: If you go to the Civilization Manger screen there's a tab where you can check out your alignment, along with your government and political party.

well i will still stick to my guns on the whole it doesnt make sense thing regardless of who started it and it's pretty silly to use language that doesnt make sense. sort of defeats the purpose of language.

i'm familiar with d&d and chaotic evil is deffinitly not associated with "less evil". a lawfull evil character would be just as evil as a chaotic evil one. the destinction lies in how they go about being evil.

edit: and changing evil to "pure evil" still doesn’t alleviate the situation . applying the adjective "chaotic" to the second level of evil still doesnt make any sense (likewise for good).
