Invalid Serial code?!?!

Invalid Serial code?!?!

I just downloaded the newest patch, and after the installation, upon re-activation, I'm getting an "invalid serial code" error. What gives? Anyone else having this issue? HELP!!

Delete the file sig.bin from C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2 and relaunch the game. It will ask for your e-mail and serial number again to reactivate. Let me know if that works.

I am having the issue also. My first game said that I had an invalid serial. I just made a new game, and it was fine after that, until now. I've had 4 or 5 games with no problem, and now my biggest game ever, a 94,000 point game, won't submit. Please help me out T-Man. I have a ticket opened: ROI-516018.

Is this solution for Stardock Central users only? I bought the game from a store and can't find sig.bin in that folder. However my problem isn't with playing the game, but validating my account through the website in order to download and use stardock central.

If your from europe and have the collectors edition then you may have problems registering via stardock, thus you can't update your game.

This is because they forgot to add the second Product id number in the Collectors edition packaging.

The solution is to go to the download section, in the top right hand corner there is a small message saying.

'bought your game from europe? click here'

Follow that link and then add your collectors edition id number, you will then instantly be given your second number which you can use to vaildate your game and then get access to the patches etc.

Check if you have chosen Galalactic Civilizations 2 in the pull down menu (Product) and then enter the serial (not the serial with GC2 at the beginnig)

I also have bought the italian standard retail version and I have the same problem of "invalid serial number" I tried some suggetion posted before (right click on the gal2 in stardock central ) but an error that says that the email addess are different but they are indeed the same.Also I've tried to find the sig.bin file but no trace of it... help me pliz

I think I had just about every problem mentioned in this thread since I installed the 1.1 Beta. I'm currently at the part about a message telling me my registered email addresses don't match while showing me two identical addresses.

Yes, they did warn me about it being a Beta, but I'm still getting a bit annoyed by now, if nothing else for having to type my registration code for the 2225th time. Please at least make it possible to use copy/paste in the fields where I have to type it.

For those that can do it: try using SDC. It may handle itself the activation problem. ANd if that doesn't work, you should be able to update the game to version 1.0X (ie getting the latest non beta update).

I've been having this invalid serial problem since I upgraded to beta v1.1, currently I can't play unless I reinstall and just patch to the regular version. Hopefully it will work then but I just hate to have to go through the whole reinstallation issue.

Tried again it says that there is a mistmatch with my email addresses ... but they are the same... sigh

I also had the "the product appears to be validated but the serial number or the machine SID don't match" error. Deleting sig.bin and re-launching worked for me. Thanks.
