Stack of Ships - How to access upgrade button?

When there is a stack of ships on a tile - how do I access the upgrade ship button?

Or for that matter the construct button of a constructor?

Thanks.

yes, i'm looking for this too.
Is the only way of upgrading a fleet to disband it and move the ships one parsec away?

yesterday I upgraded all my fighters from laser and deflectors to plasma and shields accidently
I was in huge debt after that, like minus 100.000
the next turn it was -2000, raising the tax turn to 100% and the next turn I was out of debt

seems to me that this is a very cheap way to upgrade all your ships with new weapons and shield
is this supposed to be like this, seems kinda like a bug to me

There is a deficit cap for the moment JDKing, just in case people overspend by accident. I think frogboy said it will later depend on the difficulty level.. enjoy it for now, that's the only way to upgrade without using a *lot* of money

As for the original question, as far as I know, no there is no other way, you must move the ships around and disband fleets. It is a nuisance I agree.

Yeah I'm looking forward to other means too. I'm not sure if this can be done trough the governor screen somehow, can't test right now. If I remember correctly, also ships on orbit have to move out to be upgradeable...

I really think there should be an upgrade button for ships regardless where they are, it's a pain in the ass to move those buggers around just to upgrade them. A keyboard shortcut should be nifty too.

I think you can upgrade a whole ship class at once, but I've never done that: too expensive, I usually upgrade only themore experienced ships or, in a crush if I need a better one no matter the cost (to defend a spacestation for example).
