Love the Business Model

Love the Business Model

What an idea,

treat the customers like customers, not thieves. Thank you. Brad and the gang obviously are not salaried suits, but equity owners who understand their market. I despise all the CP BS if I want to install the game on my machine and the kids. No I will not pay 49.95 to EA twice, I will rather find a cr..., which if you have a brain is not hard to do. And then you are tempted to do it with the initial purchase......

This model, is great. Treat me like I treat my clients, if I like it I will use you forever, but first I have to prove myself. This confidence means you believe in your product, code, customer support, in other words all the stuff EA has forgotten over the years.

Thanks so much, and I just purchased and haven't even played yet, so it could suck, but with this model I know it won't!

Ok after read the first Post on this thread it, i just had to register to rply.
I buy very few games, unless they give me a thrill, replayablity, and have no Starforce protection (you cant even backup youdics). To be complely honest, when a games comes out that i have some interest in i usually dl it to test it to see if its worth my hard earned money. Because demos IMO dont really show the game, its more dressed up to look pretty etc then they actual product. WHen i buy a game i want to able to create a backup incase something happens to my CD/DVD. Now if the game isnt that good within a day or so of playing I DELETE it. Now staying on the complely honest side, i dled GC2, not knowing what it was or how good it was. After a day of play, and reading this great site, i just deleted the nonlegit copy, overnighted it from Gamespot (the only place i could find it in stock). And now am waiting patiently for it to arrive, cause am goin through withdrawl. In case you are wondering why i did this here are my reasons-

EDIT-

Well after playin it for several days, i feel that this game is worthy of my money.

WHY-
Its the Sequal to MOO2 Ive always wanted
Replayablity
Patchs
NO COpy protection Whatsoever
Addictive
Able to do about anything to win(within Reason)
Small company, small developer more concerned on how people like the game then the revenues it pulls in (IE releases patchs for added features instead of expansions)

I love Stardock for this, the game and the policy are both top notch.

I *don't* have to lug the disc round with me to play on the laptop or the downstairs PC, I *don't* have to worry about Starforce bludgeoning my harddrive and I *don't* feel like I'm being treated like a criminal.

I love you Brad!

Thank You for the game and the level of trust. It is a bonus that I do not have to create an image and then crack it so I can play a game without the CD. For me it is simply a matter of once bitten twice shy. I travel around to various network gaming events. A few years back I had my binder of Cd's stolen. Since then I have kept images of all my games on a secondary hard disk. I refuse to take my binder from out of the house.
