Patch Suggestion

Congrats on another outstanding game! Just a couple of thoughts.... I bought Gal Civ II Collectors Edition ( C.E.) and do not know if I need to update to version 1.0 X or not. I have tried and just get sent to the C.E. download page which says nothing about the patch. I'm just a little unclear about if I already have it or if the C.E. version can't be patched for some reason. Also, it seems that when I set the galaxy size to huge, no matter how few opponents I opt to have or how 'dumb' I make them, they always end up right next to me and outbuild me, gathering up all available resources before I can build constructor ships. They also always go to war wtih me. Why can't the default be for opponents to start at opposite ends of the galaxy or at least more fairly spread out? Thanks for listening, and again, great job

As far as your version number, the main launch screen, where you can Start a Campaign, select new game and so on should indicact 1.0X in the bottom left hand corner. If you are unsure, you can press the update game button in the first screen and it will check for any updates.

Research propulsion techs right away and build new Constructors/Colony Ships with more engines and better speed. Purchase ships right away, don't wait for them to get built. That should help with the initial land rush.

I agree, I dislike how the comp players, and me, alwas start grouped together. It is almost like the full number of possible players is always used for map possitions but when you don't use the full number of players it just leaves thoes areas without anyone and bunches the rest of us to no side of the galaxy...I hope that made sense. It is one the only things that bugs me so far, having to go through another empire to get to fresh planets sucks.

One time I got trapped up against the side of the map with just the starting planet and the class 4 thats always there. Those were my only two planets the 2 stars next to mine were the home of the other races. So next patch I would suggest scattering the starting positions of the races out a little bit.

It works fine for me. Sounds like all of you need to update your random number drivers.
