so im kicking galactic butt...its down to dregs, alts and me...and im winnng...and outta nowhere this lost, old, ugly civilization shows up, takes over earth, etc, and i lose...in an instant...what happened here?...HELP!...what didnt i do right, dudley?

if it's campaign, don't forget that that is what's supposed to happen. Not you dying, but the stupifyingly powerful ships. In fact, I think they show up occasionally on campaign aswell. Either way, unless you either have black hole guns or are rich enough to throw ships at them, they make toast of you. I can normally hold my own and even win on challenging, but the Dread Lords whip me on cakewalk
