Major Bug -- Buy Projects Freezes Project!?!

Good game, but I've encountered a bug that greatly diminishes the flow of a game. This has occurred over several games this weekend, but I cannot provide specific steps so that the developers can recreate it. Hopefully, others can provide meaningful input to help diagnose and fix it. I post because I have not seen this described anywhere.

Simply put, you BUY a project, it takes your money, and the planet freezes social production. The completion time goes to 0 weeks, but the project stays in queue and is never built. I end up deleting it and adding it back to the queue. I can ignore or work around other weird things, but this one is almost game breaking.

P.S. In one game, one planet's population went to 0! It was still producting social and military projects, but generated 0 BCs. Can anyone explain that one? It was relatively early on the game and in no one's sphere of influence. Is that just a result of a corrupted reload?

Silence is deafening! I read a lot about fleets showing 0 moves left after a reload, ghost ships appearing, a dysfunctional turn button after a reload, etc. (all that I have experienced, but can work around). But has anyone else experienced this problem where buying a project freezes social production? I have saved games at home, so maybe I'll fire one off to stardock. I hesitate, because this does not seem to be a common problem. However, if it is, then stardock should have heard more voices then mine. Any help out there for an old gamer? Thanks in advance.

I've not encountered this myself, or heard any other reports of this particular problem. If you have a save game where a planet is froxen as you say with a bought improvement not completing the next turn (or ever), you should zip it up and send it with a description of the problem to [email protected].

Not seen or heard of this.

Population is decreased by making troop transports or colony ships, but even if the population goes to zero you still own the planet unless someone comes by and conquers it.

Otherwise, could be a bug, could be a reload problem.

Thank you Darth Kryo.

One other possibility: I "patched" the game twice; however, I wonder if I simply enabled the collector's edition stuff. I will download the retail update yet again, but use my serial number (in lieu of the collector's edition serial number). My gut tells me that may fix it as I cannot be unique. If not, off to [email protected] I go.
