Deleted ship not Deleted

Hello, im wondering what folder my custom ships are saved in? I deleted one, and used its name on a new ship, and now both of them show up in the building screen. I went back in to just re-delete the old one, but it dosen't show up in the Shipyard.

I deleted the .shipclass and .shipcfg files in the My Documents\My Game\GalCiv2\ships folder, and *still* had this problem, until I started a new game. And if I loaded a saved game after I had deleted those files, they would reappear in that folder. I'd like to be able to overwrite old ship designs without having multiple instances of the same name show up in my build screen.

Custom ships have so many bugs it drives me nuts. I've spent hours trying to design ships, moving .shipclass and .shipcfg files around, attempting to directly edit the files, and finally just wiping all custom ship files and saved games.

Stardock, here's what we need: The ability to design the *look* of a custom ship using structural components apart from equipment such as engines and save that ship template to be reused in future games. Some of us spend hours creating an appearance for our ships, but the equipment we place on those ships changes each game. Right now this is a HUGE pain in the ass to manage.

Some of you are thinking we can do this already, but no, you can't, because of bugs. In order to remove multiple pieces of equipment from a ship, I must save the ship between each removal, because if I don't the previously removed item magically reappears when I remove a 2nd item. Then, for each time I saved, a separate ship is listed in the military quick build window. I have 12 ships named Destroyer III, only one of which I should be seeing.

A separate utility to make, save, and view custom ships would be useful (akin to "The Body Shop" utility for The Sims 2).
