Bug when removing engines during ship design upgrade

If you are doing an Upgrade on an existing ship model, and the model has more than one engine attached, this happens:

1) Remove one of the engines by clicking on the engine in the components list and then clicking Remove. So far, all is well and the engine is removed and the space points reclaimed.
2) Select another engine and click Remove. Now you will see something wierd, where the first engine that you removed is put back onto the ship?!?

If you put a replacement engine (like a newer engine type) onto the model IMMEDIATELY after you remove the first one, you will not see this bug. You have to remove 2 engines one after another.

This bug does not seem to affect other component types, just engines.

I've run across this problem with weapons as well as engine parts. Now if I removed them directly from the ship by highlighting the part and hitting remove, it's removed from the component list as well and the bug doesn't come up.

if your hand is empty thats what happens.
However, It doesnt happen if you have a new part selected from the menu on the left in your hand when you remove the old ones...Only when your hand is empty, very odd.

I've had this as well, with everything (weapons, defenses, engines): as soon as I click in another item in the list after removing one, they all come back to place (in the list).
I've avoided that buy clicking directly on the component on the ship rather than on the list and then removing it. No problems this way, even if it is less practical

Seen this one too. People should be also posting this stuff in the sticky for "Easy Tweeks to make the game better for you". This way you know it will at least be read by the developers. Nothing like a problem that doesn't get noticed by the powers that be.

This is one of the many ship designer bugs that's frustrating me of late. I've gotten around this one by right-clicking (as if to drop a selected Extra component) after removing a component. This solves the problem for me.

I have the same exact bug as outlined by the thread starter, only it is true for all ship components.

Yeah, this bug is annoying, but can be worked around.
Just click on the component, click remove, then click on some OTHER component in the left menu side.
This will remove the component and bypass the bug. It means you have to make an extra mouse click for every deletion.
Hopefully it will be fixed soon.
