Invasion Bug

I took over a planet with a fleet of transports, it gave me an insane population and an insane influence. It went back to normal after 2 turns. I got a screen shot, so here you go:

Now that I think about it, it probably went back to normal because everyone starved to death. It didn't happen when I invaded any other planets, but I think that was one of the few that I invaded with a fleet of transports, rather than 1 at a time.

hmm, maybe (very very maybe) this is related to the "AI influence taking over the entire map" problem others have had...

That does sound a lot like the AI Influence Taking Over The Map bug, especially since it would automatically go away like I recall it was said. I wouldn't put a maybe after it, IMO. It seems to fit.

Perhaps Gladstone II is Coruscant? A population of 4 Quintillion seems to fit.

Morale's pretty good for a pop that size. I guess they must be stacked on top of each other in a very comfortable fashion.

Actually, on an earth sized planet, and considering that one looks to be about 70% land mass, that works out to a spacious 3.5 sq. ft. per person! No problemo!
