Some small things that need to be fixed.

I just got done dragging myself away from this awsome game. Even on a normal map, this is eating my computer alive. Very resource intensive it seems. Anyhow, I don't see why the following can't easily be fixed.

1. Why can I see ships in orbit around AI planets, even when none of my ships are near. Seems stupid to me.

2. Why can't I tell the AI to get the @$#& out of my territory, or at least give a "war" option in the diplomacy screan. How can I threaten the AI without this? Civ has this option, and so should this.

3. Why don't I get some kind of notice when the computer declares war on itself? Seems I should know.

4. Why is it that when some idiot minor race shows up in the middle of the game, it has all of my techs? Makes me want to kill them just so they don't spread it around.

5. I need a new computer.

3: Declares war on itself? "In recent News, the Drengin empire has declared war to itself, stating that their "Military build-up" and blatant disregard for national borders consisted an act of war."

sounds like a TheOnion news article...

Though I second #2 wholeheartedly!

Ditto on 2 and 5. Especially 2... I'd have used it a multitude of times by now.

If you put money into esponiage I'm pretty sure you find this out.

With regard to #3: Since you can always find out who's at war with who from the diplomacy screen, espionage clearly shouldn't be necessary. It'd be really really helpful if declarations of war and peace were included in GNN reports.

And I strongly agree with #2. I tend to feel like I can't really talk to the AI in the same way they can talk to me, I can only trade with them. It'd be really good to say "Hey, why don't we covertly undermine the Drengin", or "Get out of my space now or I'll declare war".

Regarding #1. You shouldn't be able to see enemy ships in enemy territory out of range of your sensors, unless you have a lot of investment in espionage against that civ. Are you sure that the enemy is not in your sensor range?

#2 Seems like a good idea to me, access in your territory should be something they should have to negotiate for, and encroachment should give you the option to threaten with war.

Yea, that would make it feel more like "multiplayer" without the other players. (For #2.)

#1, espionage

#2 would be interesting, if you can say something like "Keep out of my space or else I would declare war!"... Of course if you can do this, then maybe also other things like; "Don't take X planet or I'll declare war", or "Don't attack/alliance with race X or I'll declare war!",,, or "don't research X or I'll declare war!!", "Don't look at me funny or I'll declare war".... Keep them all on their toes, and make them have to decide whether its best to keep peace or to go against your request

#3, yes, that would be nice.. considering you are told peace.

#4, well, anyone is allowed to research any tech, so I don't see why this is a problem...

#5, totally agree 100%. in fact, everyone should get one.

Of course, we could all keep suggesting additions to the game 'til the cows come home. An of course, people will. But at the end of the day there is only so much you can put into a game.
