Unbelievable work, most of you. I would be proud to have this sort of stuff as fixed ship designs if I were a games developer.

I just wonder how many people made the Rubber Ducky colony ship just by sticking the colony mod onto the 2nd Terran cargo hull ?



One problem I have been having when making ships was that I couldn't rotate a part 180 degrees without it being flipped as well. I'm sure there's a "how to" ship-building thread here somewhere that can help though.

Beadles, if I'm correct in thinking I get what you're talking about, I believe that has to do with the fact that you can only rotate a hardpoint along a single axis at the 0, 90, 180, and 270 degree points. There's no way to rotate it along a secondary axis, so you're limited to what plane the hardpoint is on. Of course, I could be entirely wrong.

My newest battleship (for some reason I prefer to build giant battleships. I've tried with fighters, I really have.. just no good ideas). I call it the Tigerclaw, a name I did steal from the Wing Commander series. Not the design, however. I just thought the name was appropriate.

I will even add a new loading section so people can get to the downloads easily. All they will have to do is email me them in zip format with an image and race details etc and i will load them in to the database...

If there is a big enough call for this i will do it anyway

My problem was that if I had something like a colony module facing from left to right, and I wanted to make it face from right to left, it would only do so if it was upside down. I'm sure there's a way around it. It would be a lot more user-friendly if you could just rotate the piece rather than have to stick hardpoints down. By all means leave hardpoints in, but include the ability to press left or right arrow to rotate the piece as well? I'm sure someone's mentioned that already. You guys certainly don't look like you've been struggling with this at all, so I'm sure it's just me..

edit: I know this isn't the place and that there aren't animations on the ships. Would blinking lights be implementable though? I can't help but feel some of these ships would really come to life with some flashing lights where you could input a time period and/or whether the on/off transition is gated or smooth. You could have a tick-box to disable them on lowest end PC's if they caused any issues with performance - though I wouldn't have thought flashing lights would be an issue with some of the polygon counts in these pictures! I'll post this in the correct thread too.

I am having the same problem as well. The tiny Terran hull is a great example. Near the rear tail section there is a hardpoint on each side. The right hard point is facing up correctly but the left one is not. Mind you, to my knowledge it is impossible to get that hardpoint arrow to face up.

Am I doing something wrong here?

I must say that some of the ships I have seen are flat out spectacular, good job all! The giant robot, in particular, humbles every ship I have built so far. Unfortunately I don't have anything really big done yet, as I haven't had the game long. I was going to submit a SW Imperial Shuttle, but as there is one up here already, I had to settle for an X-wing.

I will admit I am kind of proud of having the shield module double billed as R2-D2.


This would have been super easy if not for the fact that some of the hardpoints were different on the back of that hull. So I ended up having to jam a bunch of stuff into the interior of the base model to build on. Has anyone else noticed uneven hardpoints, and if so, will there be a patch/mod to correct them?

Battlestar Ulysses (both as an empty hull and equiped with some evil mass driver weapons plus shields). The Drath Legion didn't know what hit them when they decided to rid the galaxy of my demonic civilization then found that one of these babies could destroy their entire invasion fleet without breaking a sweat

I have a question about Kryo's hull mod. Does it only add hulls as jewelery, or does it affect gameplay (so it doesnt just alter ship looks, they will also cost more and be more/less effective in combat)

I want to download it so I can make cooler ships, but not if it affects gameplay
