STICKY: SHOW OFF your cool ship designs

What have you made?

Have you made some cool ships? Show others what you've managed to make!

Here's a robot shp that Synthetic Orange pointed me to:

Show off your designs here!

BTW, if you're having trouble hosting your pictures, the Library here allows for screenshots to be uploaded.

That's a great looking design Offica!

That dragon I made was originally going to be a snake, then it evolved into a quasi sea serpent (I still have the hull without wings), it eventually became what you see a few posts up.

Anyway, keep up the good work!

@ 74, but anyone for that matter, what was the coding you used to actually show your pictures???

All right, here's my Constructor design:

Link: Worker Ant

Didn't really come out the way I'd had in mind, but I couldn't really find the parts I needed and I wasn't in the mood to "fake it" at the time. Maybe I'll revisit it later.

Next design I'm gonna make is my freighters. I really want to do a butterfly, but there aren't really the right parts, so I ended up with a sort of dragonfly the last time I tried doing it. I think I'll revisit that notion.

Aequitas: The IMG tags ought to work... are you sure you're using the right links from your hosting space?

Peace & Luv, Liz

Alright, time for me to pound the board with images!
These are all made using the Altarian hulls.

Playing as the Yor, I gave everything a hull designation along with the configuration name. <-- Geek.

EDIT: Ugh, I didn't know there were so many people accessing this thread. My webspace was bombed like crazy. D'oh! Anyways, this should fix it.

C'mon now, anyone? Is there an easier way to take screenies other than PRNTSCRN, alt-tab, and paste into an image program? Is there any way to allow for some sort of screen shot directory that saves screenshots?

Aye. There's a link somewhere (search for 'screenshots') that I don't know, or you can google it, but the program is a freeware screen grabber called HoverSnap! You can set a default directory to save all your pics and it can also automatically name them for you. All you gotta do is hit PrntScrn and it'll do the rest for you. No need to ever leave your app.

u know, Stardock should create a game where you can fight it out with your ships online in an X-Wing or Descent Freespace style game. Now there's a genre thats also been lacking in recent years!

Thanks Dunetiger...I love your color scheme, I had a somewhat darker green for my SLDF game, but shelved it for black on grey for the terran ships.

I also give an in depth (like 2 or so paragraphs, explaining each vesel's role/class, commision date, historical background, and any odd performing quirks. Yeah...I love this game.

Honestly, I know that I'm repetitive, but could someone please spell out exactly what format I need to use to get the pictures to show on these forums (ie [.img.]somesortofhttp[./img.]....)? I've got pics, and I like to share

where do the satellite dishes come from? was that part of the collectors edition?
has anyone created a battlestar galactica/pegasus yet? if so, is it possible for me to download and use someone else's model? also, what if they used extras from the collector's edition....which i don't have..does that mean i won't be able to use the model? also, will those extras from the collector's edition (hull jewelery) ever be made available for the regular edition?

Yep. here's 3 of my new ships.. nothing really special, just a new series of hulls along the same old
style I'm getting accustomed to making.

Upload *dun dun * upload *dun dun* upload!
Please? They say you can upload it via the library in the metaverse.
In one thread Governor Mormegil said:

We will have a way to share ship designs, pritty soon. for the moment if you send the "ship name".shipconfig and the "shipname".shipclass files from your My Games\GalCiv2\Ships folder to your friend, and you are both using the same version of the game. You should see there design. (Provided you have the techs to build it)

I would seriously pay $5 for a pack of 100 or so of these super cool ships.

What we need is an application sort of like Galactopedia, where you could build Ships then take some screenshots of you ship and finally you could save them to use in the game or even directly send it to the metaverse (from the program).

If there's any programmer reading this thread plz answer my prayer!

Make 'em terminally convinced, so to say

This was in an effort I assume to "facilitate communications, and terminate hostilities"
Yes.... um "terminate" sounds about right

BTW Lohengram, i really love your ship designes, very "earth navy" id love to pick up the pack when youre "done" with them. Just a question, what do you use to get the flare at the rear? Is that another hull under those plates on the back end?

Also, anyone else think that we should have other angle modifiers apart from 180 and 90? Like, 1,2,5,15,30,60, would be nice.
Heh, i should post mine. I have some decent ones.

What race ship set did you use and how did you get such amazing shapes, it looks like you are using multiple hulls???

Kudos to your designs that are sleek and effective.

Save your images to .jpg format and have them hosted somewhere where linking directly is free (www.imageshack.us). Then simply click the "image" button on top of the comment box to add the addresses into your posts. You'll need to copy the information you need from the hosting site.

And Nickem, she ain't ugly at all. I rikey.
Lohengram's Yamato is awesome, too.

What image button? I don't have one and just end up using html to insert the images.
