I feel completely inadequate now. All I've been doing is slapping whatever parts I need on a standard hull.

So there is someway to take this designs and use them? Would I have to research certain techs first, or could I just take any massive ship design, with any firepower, and simply use one of these? These are hella awesome, I could see myself playing GC II even more just to see these pretty ships duke it out.

Nice idea to build template ships! Build a nice ship with any hull then "upgrade" it with whatever you need (as utils parts). Think i'll do this in the future instead of building ship form scratch everytime I need a new iteration.

Wow, it looks like you guys used a lot of parts, but whenever I use that much parts half of it tends to disappear. Or is that fixed in 1X?

Those badboys actually use a TON of parts to build. And I have to admit it was very inefficient from a choke the computer because of so many parts side. But I was really proud of these ships. By the way those ships used the Large Hull type. But in most cases, I try to just use the hull to be a simple building ground. That I can then add parts on to.

I'm kinda hoping there will be some simple squares put together with, a few hard points tacked on, that I can then just spruce up. Oh and I'm big on the spikes and antennae look.

And also I'm actually hoping for another massive parts pak from Stardock really soon, that contain some hull parts that are a bit more modular, a few more cowl like designs, and what not. Oh and more of those cool green bits. Those are very cool. To me.. ship design is sooooo... much fun.

I havent been fooling around with large and huge hulls too much yet, been making too many fighters with frigates, but here is my huge and small hull designs. (only posting 2 now, maybe more later)

QUESTION??= how can i show the whole picture on this page????

wow, I'm not this patient... I tend to design my ships with 4-5 main large parts that give the frame, a couple of smaller decorations, then place engines and weapons and off we go... these ships are amazing though!!!
one question: does 1.0X bonus pack give even more ship parts than 1.0D? I noticed some more that supposedly weren't there previously.

Are these done using the default ship designer in-game or has an external application been used?
