| I noticed something while creating ships. When I look at them straight on, the hardpoints are not exactly balanced on the sides opposite each other. It makes the ships seem lopsided. Is there a way to combat this? It's driving my perfectionist self insane. |

This is of the Halcyon set, a medium vessel called, lamely, the Knight: 
Of course, I have designs for every ship size in the Halcyon set, but you can already get a pretty good idea by these three how the rest would probably look. Like I'm sure many of you do, I try to keep some common characteristics in a set. This next thing is the Scorpion, not really part of a civilization set but one I make to beef up minor races so they don't get easily obliterated in the late stages of the game. It isn't sleek like the Halcyon set but does have the added bonus of actually kinda looking like something recognizable:
