Winter - thats a beauty. Titan is appropriate name. I really like the curve of the underside. The "heft" of the more thickened shape. It will really look nice in the combat viewer as opposed to the more surfboardy earlier flatter designs (which are also nice). I like the twin ventral fins too.

Too bad the combat viewer makes these large ships roll and pitch so fast sometimes, and they get into that headbobbing motion when in a collision course with an enemy ship. Hope a patch addresses the big ship animation behavior in GC2's combat viewer sometime.

Couple additions to the fleet. The small ships.

First, the Osprey Corvette:

Second, the Convair class frigate, heavy upgrade to the Portland class frigate:

Plus, an updated fleet scale representation

Thank you Hillslam, you are not so bad yourself Your Texas has a very 'Starblazers' / 'Yamato' feel to it and with the mix of straight cut and rounded shapes, seems to be the logical amalgamative conclusion of the smaller cruiser designs. My personal favourite is your Suffolk Class, with the sturdy design and its prominent rear plating.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Had to improvise a lot with the new Dreadnought Class cuz I had made the base almost tripple the length of the huge hulls, top plating consists of not one but two sets of structures, one from the front backwards (ends under the bridge) and another from the very rear to the front - also was the ship too long for a single set of "understructure" so I aligned two in a row- quite happy with the way the twin ventral fins ended up

Yes, the combat bobbling bothers me a lot. After I added the understructure to the Amon Class and saw it sway and bobble in battle I wasn't too fond of having made it heftier- seems that the more beefed up a design looks, the more ridiculous it looks in battle view

Now the only thing I would love Stardock to add to the map features is for oneself to be able to chose the display size of each ship type (on the main map). In battle the Titan/Triton (still deciding ) will be massive, but on the main map its of the same size than the standard Huge Hulls. Perhaps some patch will add a feature for one to edit the GCTypes file to feature a Hight x Length x Width display entry for entire XML model entries !!!

I had starblazers in the back of my head when doing the Texas. The Suffolk is my favorite too.

If your Titan is 3 times your tarasque, doesn't it overlap hulls with opponents in the battleviewer when battles commence?

I'd like the ability in the shipyard to scale components' height, width, and length separately, not just an overall size slider. But I understand that would be realtime geometry deformation and would probably be a huge undertaking to implement. I'd probably get more use out of being able to move hardpoints on existing jewelry and hulls as many of the stock ones are misaligned, slightly and sometimes not so slightly, causing me no ends of headaches.

I guess most of you guys use Kryo's hull mod? I've had it off lately because I've been doing metaverse.

These are the warships of my United Federation of Planets Fleet. Thank you, Kryo, for such a wonderful mod!

The Miranda Class Frigate is the earliest of the capital ships within my starfleet. With upgrades, including miniturization, it is condsidered a Light Cruiser.

The Constitution Class (Enterprise shown here) is the workhorse of Starfleet. When first built, it was considered a light cruiser, but with refits, it sits soundly within the Heavy Cruiser, or Battle Cruiser category.

The Resplendent Class Battleship was an effort to improve on the capabilities of the aging Constitution Class. A significantly heavier warship, she boasts a crew complement of 800 and twin VoidMaster Hyperwarp drives.

The Majestic Class Dreadnought is the most massive vessel commissioned by Starfleet to date. Its engineering section was incorporated more closely into the ovoid saucer section, and two EtherDynamics hyperwarp 3 engines are secured to the vessel with sturdy wide pylons.

Bravo Axel! Awesome ships! The Constitution is great! I never bothered trying to use the hull mod, now I can see why it's so popular. Anyway, very impressive!

lliance News broadcast:-

People of the Terran Alliance, this has been a dark time for our people. Our attempts to defend our Altarian brothers from the Korx aggression have failed due to the Torian surprise assault. The battle between our main fleet and the Torian main fleet resulted in a costly victory for our fleet. Although the Torian battleships were destroyed by our powerful frigates, the bulk of them were lost.

However, do not despair! The navy has been rebuilding, and the newest weapon against the Xeno aggressors has arrived, the Titan class battleship. Using the latest Terran research, the Titan out performs all known xeno vessels, and the first ship has already scored 5 kills in combat in the second week of service.

Rejoice! The march on Korx and Toria begins today!

Enlist in the navy or marines today for your piece of the glory! Battle the evil xeno’s! Help liberate our Altarian brothers!

How many hit points do the ships have?
In my last war with the Yor they had zero shields but 184 hit points with less than 15 each of PD and Armor.
My ships each had 130 or so in beams.
Even so, it would sometimes take 4 shots to down one of their ships.

They even took out one of my ships in that war.

I hate losing ships.

(Now, that was strange. This was not the thread I was in, and it was not the one I replied to, but it is where my reply and I ended up)

I love the sleek, cleanliness of Hillsam and michimex's designs.

Here's some of my designs using Kryo's awesome mod.

Ok, Lets start with the smaller stuff...

Crow (Hull: tiny)

Griffin (Hull: Small)

Seraphim (Hull: Med)

Judea Colony Ship (Hull: Cargo)

Ok. Now for the Larger Craft. Some are also Star Blazer-esque I guess.

Jericho (Battleship; Hull: Large)

-----------------------------------------------------------

Cain (Dreadnought; Hull: Huge)

Cain, Armed:

-----------------------------------------------------------

Death's Head (Destroyer of Worlds; Hull: Huge)

The design for the Death's Head is pretty complex, and can crash lesser computers...which i guess is a bad thing. But it's sheer mass is pretty impressive in the game.

Let me know what ya'll think.

the Cain is great, I want to see it in the library, really cool

Here's a couple of my own. More to come.

These three are based on the same hull; Altarian cargo.

They're the staple vessels of my Exchange Confederacy empire.

The Reclaimer-class is a constructor.
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m40/BambooKing79/ReclaimerClass.jpg

The Providence-class is a freighter.
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m40/BambooKing79/ProvidenceClass.jpg

The Providence is twice as long as the standard hull.

The Bastion-class is a colonizer.
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m40/BambooKing79/BastionClass.jpg

Update:
The Salamander-class is an assault cruiser.
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m40/BambooKing79/SalamanderClass.jpg

Even trade empires need to defend themselves.

Tell me what you think!
