Wow, awesome. I just got this game and I'm addicted. This thread is another great example of why it's such a fun value. I made a ship the other day that wasn't nearly as cool as some of these, and I looked at my watch and I had been fiddling around with it for 40 minutes. Not many other games that you can get lost for hours just happily goofing around in a sub-section of the game.

For some reason I can't create a post. It says it is created in "My Posts", but I can't find it anywhere in the Modding thread. I seem to have a lot of problems with GCII forum. So I don't have a choice but to post here.

Does anyone know of a free 32 bit art program? The ones I have only save in 24 bit and doesn't work well for ship models in GCII. I've tried downloading and installing a few art programs, but they all turned out to be 24 bit.

The files do not need to be 32 bit, 24bit png is all you need. Most art programs will do that for you.

Thanks mormegil for your reply.

What I'm talking about are the files in this directory C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Gfx\Models are 32bit. If you load one of these 32bit png's into a 24bit paint program it changes the colors, so if all you wanted to do was make some alterations to a 32bit png it won't turn out very nice.
