Hang on Planetary Invasion

I upgraded to the new 1.0x and experienced a hang when I invaded a planet. The game paused for a while without the Planet Invasion screen coming up then the mouse cursor stopped responding. When I tried to alt-tab out of GalCiv2, the screen went blank and I got nothing. No response to repeated Ctl-Alt-Dels either. I ended up having to do a hard reboot by pressing the computer's reset button. I had previously noted a rather long pause between initiating planetary invasions and when the invasion window actually came up. In this case, I had just unsuccessfully invaded the same planet the turn before.

Rebooted, reloaded the last autosave, and invaded the planet and was able to complete the game. This probably isn't significant but on the reload the first invasion was successful and I never had to do a second invasion.

I've been playing a lot on the original download and on the previous patch (probably 20-30 hours) and had not experienced any bugs whatsoever until my problem tonight with 1.0x. I estimate I had been playing on 1.0x for about 3 hours before the game hung. This was a fresh game started on 1.0x after patching.

Running on Pentium 4 at 2.4GHz with 1Gig of main memory, Radeon 9550 ATI driver 8.221.0.0 (1/24/06).

I realize this isn't much to go on, and don't really expect a response. But I did want to report it and document it, so you can establish a pattern if other people have similar errors.

We definitely will take your report into consideration.

You hadn't happened to save the debug.err file out of your game directory before launching GCII after the hang, had you?

If you (or anyone) ever experience any kind of a major problem, (save and exit if still in-game) then send the debug.err file and (if 100% reproducable) your zipped save game causing the problem in to [email protected]. Of course if it were a crash, you wouldn't necessarily have a save prior to the problem, but that's why autosave comes in handy

Will do.

Yeah, got the same problem. Started to invade a planet that has been owned by me just before the fundamentalists took it. While trying to send my troops on the planet the "turn" button disappears ?? and a minute later the game hangs up.
