Scrolling problem-anyone? anyone?

Anyone out there know how to correct the scrolling issues I'm having? I have found that moving around the map is EXTREMELY difficult, particularly when trying to scroll to the left...seems (unless I'm missing something) that you can only get the mouse to scroll left/right/up/down by hitting one VERY TINY area on the screen's edge...then 9/10 times I then move too far...then have to "treasure hunt" for the other directional to get back. Thought at first there was a "lock" on the mouse or a mouse sensisitivity problem but I can't find jack in the OPTIONS for the game to explain what the heck's going on...but as a Galciv I retread that's how I "moved" when playing and I'm getting a bit flustered!

Yup scrolling is a big annoyance for me too. You can grab the background and move around like that, but its no-where near as easy as scrolling using the mouse, you can't move diagonals for some odd reason, and half the time it doesnt register your mouse is at the end f the screen to move left or right. Hopefully they will fix this, as on large maps it gets me mad fast

You've got to be nuts! Grab-scrolling is incredible--I can get anywhere on the map with a quick spin out of the wheel, drag and drop, and spin back in. Whereas it would be a massive pain to get to a precise location across the map even if edge scrolling was perfect.

I'm just trying to figure out what went wrong here...Galciv I (like almost every other strategy game out there) has the scrolling fine...is this a minor detail missed in the "big picture" for gameplay?

I hate it, it doesnt feel at all intuative to me, I wish they'd put in the standard edge scrolling. Such a pain.

I like the grab scrolling too - it gives you much more control and you waste a lot less time moving the mouse away from where the action is. I don't use edge scrolling at all with GalCiv2. Consider that anytime you're doing something on the main map you probably have the view centered or close to centered. If you use edge scrolling you have to move the mouse way away from the action, hope to get a decent scroll (that doesn't need a reverse corrective edge scroll) then you need to move the mouse back to the action. Horribly inefficient!
