Tech Tree for Ships .

Does anyone know a way to find out what ship need what tech researched to get access to ?? I see in tech screen when about to start researching a tech an info about what it leads to like stracture , ships .. etc . When it comes to ship it says i need an other 2 or 3 more tech's to be researched to get access to that ship but i can't follow that after few turns ( u know , busy colonizing new planets and war ... etc ) so it would be nice if i can see the ship listed with color's at the place where we build ships , like white for what i can build now and red for what i still need to research it tech's with the required tech's .

Also can a ship have all type of weapons/defence's mounted on it if the tech's are researched ??

I agree with Louis

I find it easy to lose track of what I need to research to get to certain new ships. Any tips on this would be welcomed...

The ships you receive pre-built seem inconsisitant. They often do make the most of other technologies. Finally, they don't seem to have upgraded versions. I really wished that they would allow us to upgrade the base ships....

Honestly, its better to make your own.

The developers have said the Core ships are a little better than you could typically build yourself when they first become available, but will become obsolete rather quickly as new techs become available to you.

I actually went through and wrote down all of the techs for about two thirds of the core ship designs that can be unlocked through research. However, (I'm pretty sure) these ships can't be upgraded and I can easily make much better ones so in my opinion there is no reason to jump through the research hoops to unlock them. I find that they needlessly clutter my ship selection lists and I never ended up using them. They look great but I save time and money by researching the different hull techs and then my weapon and defense techs of choice without worrying about these core design reqs. The only reason I can see for unlocking these is if you don't feel like designing your own ships and need them as placeholders while you pursue a non-military victory. I suppose a few people out there dislike the ship designer, but I imagine most prefer building their own better builds frequently.
