Disable “Next Ship” focus?

I am finding it quite annoying when, after moving a ship, the game refocus my view on the next ship with available move points. Isn’t that what TAB is for after all?

Any way to disable this functionality? Will it be addressed in a patch?

Thanks! Great game otherwise!

It's intentional and cannot be disabled AFAIK.

Just zoom out. The game's screen won't shift if the next ship to be selected can be seen, even if it's barely in the corner.

It would be better if it can be turned off as an option though.

Zooming out is a temporary fix, but one shouldn't have to use it if it can easily be turned off.

I agree 100% with the poster. I find this THE most annoying quirk in all of Galciv. I think I would even pay for an update to disable it, or better yet, to have an option for it.

I'd rather it not be turned off. I think there should be an extra command that tells the ship to "standby".

This is pretty much my only gripe with gameplay. (other than the AI's ganging up on me and crushing my Thalan civilization)

Yes I find this quite annoying myself. Actually i find it very annoying. However if you press "g" for guard that fleet/ship won't bother you agian for awhile unless you move a fleet/ship that is close to the one that is guarding(this is an OK gameplay addition because i ussualy move many ships in the general location all at once). I would welcome an option to disable this "feature" and make it use the tab key instead. Sometimes when I play on a large/huge map my eye balls start coming out of their sockets when i have 40+ fleets to manage.

I find it very annoying also. I hit G for Guard to try and minimize it but an option to disable it would be much appreciated. The Micro-Managers are probably the ones most affected by this. I like the hands on approach to moving my ships around a system in the midst of total war and nothing is more annoying then tactically zoomed into the system moving your fleets around to gain a strategic advantage over the enemies advance and then ZOOOOMMMM!!!! your on the other side of the galaxy. PLEASE give us an option to disable this.....

I would love the option to disable this feature as well. The constant shuffling about makes me motion sick after a 10 hour jaunt

Yes, please add an option to disable focusing on next ship with movement points. I want to do my own focusing. Having my map jump around drives me nuts.

Here, here! I want to be able to turn this off too. Tabbing is so much better, especially when you have other things you want to take care of first, such as newly built ships, empty queues in planets, etc. If they are worried about people forgetting about their ships, all it takes is a little icon on the interface that stays lit until you've given commands to all idle ships. This is an easy thing to change (or should be, I suppose it could be hard-coded into the game in some sort of monstrous way, but that would be craaazy).

I too would like this changed.  When playing zoomed out, you don't know what ship is active and I've accidently moved the wrong ones.  The next button is good for cycling through ships.  Maybe the next button can be colored green if there are still ships with movement.  But then you'd have to set any ships you don't want moved to guard or sentry for the button to turn off....as I've seen in other games.

I too want this to be disabled with an option. It leaves me so confused because when I am moving dozens of fleets around, sometimes it auto focuses to a new ship without me realizing it. Then I send the wrong fleet to the wrong place

What makes it worse is that you can give a move order to a ship, and select another while the first is moving: if try to give an order to the newly selected ship, you run the risk of the game jumping back to the first one and give THAT ship the order instead. I don't think focus should ever change unless the player chooses: I'm tired of fleets veering off because they reselected themselves while I was giving orders to other units.

This feature drives me to swear most turns. If I move a ship near a star system and want to examine it , zip I'm off to some other ship all the way across the galaxy. I then have to drag the screen back to the original system to colonize the right planet. And in combat.... If you spot an enemy getting back to it is sometimes very tough-- especially if you blew past him and he doesn't show up on the screen anymore. please, please let me turn this off.
