Is 1.0X patch coming out today or not?

Yep, here in Europe, Friday's nearly over already.
And I sure hope I can play with the fixed social production bonus this weekend.

I'm hoping the GPU throttling in the patch will allow me to play the game for more than 10 mins at a time before it crashes and auto-reboots my system.

I hope so for your sake too, GB17, sorry to hear that you're having troubles. I was worried that I'd have some issues also since I'm running a beefy and hot system (FX-60, 2 gig Ram, and 2 Nvidia Geforce 7800 GTXs in SLI but I haven't had a crash yet...though I haven't gotten to play too much yet either...

I'm with GB17, my game crashes pretty randomly. If I hadn't invested in a new case and fans before christmas it would be nigh unplayable which consequently would be a dog gone shame cause so far I'm loving this game.

Well, if the patch does not come out today I will have to break down and get "Star Wars Empire At War," and I rather save the money. However as each hour passes my resolve is crumbling! If the patch does arrive today there will be no looking back as I settle in for a long weekend of Gal Civ 2

Now there's some motivation for StarDock... They've pretty much delivered on everything that they've promised with these releases, so I have faith it will be out today.

Inquiring minds want to know!!! Do I write-off this weekend to GalCiv or not?

Crashes a lot on me still, and at random intervals. Not sure if I can blame it on videocard heat at this point. I set autosave to every two turns to compensate. Also having issues shutting down since I installed GC2 and some general system instabilities. Wondering if that is because of the SC service based on the timing. Seems that Network DDE hangs and will not shut down even with the process disabled. Will try disabling the SC services to see if that helps. Saw another thread about that elsewhere. Environment is too complex to narrow down easily. System just fails to shut down sometimes, frequently after a GC II crash.

Well, I waited on the game to be delivered in the first place. I could wait a while longer for the patch, but if I don't get some sort of fix, patch, advice, whatever, in the next couple of weeks, I'm going to have to return the game. I'd be happy to get a new fan or something, but I'm not going to do that unless I know overheating is really the problem (yes, I did post my error log in the stickied post in the bug reports forum). No point in spending money to change my system all around if I'm not even sure what the problem is.

Anyway, great game, from what little I've been able to play of it. Hopefully this patch will make the game playable for me and everyone else who is experiencing problems and/or gameplay bugs.

Stardock seems pretty supportive overall, though, so I'm sure I'll hear something at some point.

How silly.Why do you think the patch is the second coming? I've played over 30 hours of GC2 already and as for EAW,meh.

Guys, why dont you fix the cooling in your machines?

I guess it depends on if you stand to benefit from this patch how bad you want it or not. For those few that have been getting CTD this throttling thing will fix it.

Gosh. It's like Feb. 21st all over again! Maybe Stardock will surprise us with the patch/update after this one by not pre-announcing it!
