Minimap Recentering

Forgive me if this has already been discussed. I did not find any reference to it.

Is there any way to make the minimap automatically recenter when tabbing between ships? I currently have zoom out then back in on the minimap to do so. It's cumbersome.

Thanks.

Hmm well look into this. It SHOULD automatically recenter, but if it's not then it's a bug that needs to DIE!

It definitely does not for me. If it's a bug let me elaborate. I play on very large galaxies, and zoom the minimap to x200 or x300, so I'm only seeing a small part of the overall galaxy on it. When a ship I move finishes, or if I tab to find the next ship with available moves, the main map recenters but the minimap does not. Often this means what I am seeing on my main map does not at all correspond to the mini. The blue quadralateral on the mini that shows my main viewing area is nowhere to be seen. However, if I zoom out a step on the minimap and right back in, it does recenter and all is well. Note that all of this happens regardless of view and zoom level...but it is clearly exacerbated at the more zoomed-in levels.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, I just reproduced it and added it to our bug list! Thanks ezolak!

I'm very glad to know this fix is coming, too. I have been dealing with the same on the gigantic map.

Also needed is a better way to know that enemy ships are around and about and need to be dealt with. Perhaps an option to "flash" enemy ships on the minimap. As it is, I have to painstakingly squint and look throughout the minimap.

Also in the minimap would be a better option for locating minable resources. They seem to be what's leftover after all of the other resources on the minimap have been turned off. That actually works fine, although it's not very intuitive for a newbie. (When I figured it out, I officially self-declared that I had graduate from the newbie level.)
