Frogboy please help!!

a few questions

There are a few things which i don't understand; so without further adu here is my list of questions(everyone loves lists)
1. After i beat the game on the economy report i noticed that no A.I. race lost money to leases. So that means they don't rush bulidings and ships right? so how can they pull so many scouts and colony ships out of their rear while still beating me in research?
2. Could it be possible in a future update to add a counter-espionage type of thing? that way we could put money into it to halt other races attempts to steal my techs.
3. Something i noticed during every game is that all a.i. races generally use the same weapons and defenses. For example every race in my current game has mass driver weapons and defenses. So naturally i use beam offense and mass driver defense and easily win every battle. More than likely it is due to the a.i.'s trading with each other.
4. About adaption do the a.i. adapt only after they personally have combat with you? Or do they do it when they notice your powerful? For example if i was at war w/ the drengin and using beam weapon against there mass driver defense would the Yor also adapt?
5.Finally(yes it is almost over) a question on ship design. i think it would be better when your original designs carry over into other games. what i mean is that say i create a fighter with laser 2 tech. every time i research the next line i upgrade my ships. But when i start a new game i can never carry over my designs effectively cause i have to wait so long to have acces to them. it would be better imo to carry over the original design w/out the upgrades. so whats the chances of this being in a future update?

Point 3- I have seen them adapt rather rapidly. A couple of games ago I had a minor race on the run. They begged for peace, and I got a pile of tech and money to agree to it. A number of turns latter, they declared war on me and came at me with a large fleet which just tore trough my previously unbeatable fleet. This is just one example. What difficulty level are you playing? I have been playing on Normal.

Point 5- Just save a base configuration. Call it Cruiser Prototype, Cruiser MK I or whatever. Then when you start upgrading the design, save the upgrades under different names such as MK Ia, MK II or whatever. Your original prototype will be there the next game.

1- I'm pretty sure that rush buys don't show up when you do it in one lump sum. At any rate, mine have never shown up in the end game screen.

3- I've definitely seen them adapt. In my last game(normal), all of the AI players were using beams, so a couple started learning missle. By the end of the game, they were just starting to field basic mass drivers on their ships.

4- I'm not sure. I've only noticed it happen in war, but that really doesn't mean all that much.

5- Basically, I'd say what CTB123 said, but I'd like to add that it usually isn't all that advantageous to update your ships every tech.
