How to copy / share save games?

Hi all,

does anyone know if its possible to copy or share save games?

Reason I want to do so is say I have GalCiv 2 on my home rig and my notebook, and say I want to continue my galactic conquest on either, would just copying and pasting the save game from either PCs be sufficient?

All of the saved stuff is stored in C:\Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2

That includes ship designs, settings, saves, races, etc. Just move the whole folder back and forth if you want.

That begs the question... what if you reinstall the game or reformat your comp while only saving savegame and only one or two custom ship designs and not taking ALL custom ship designs used in that certain savegame? When you load that savegame up after that what happens?

Yeh I was wondering about that as well - what if I didn't install the Collector's Edition stuff and my ships used it?
Or if I gave the save game to a friend and s/he didn't have the CE or bonus stuff installed?
