Search for Planet or Race

Seaerch for Planet or Race

Is there something I am missing. Is there a way to search to find a race or planet? For example, I can talk with Minor Race A, and I realize they are weak. I want to invade them, but need to know where their home planet is. I can't find the planet or a race designator for them when searching the map. Is there an easy way to find where they are?

Thanks

if you really have no clue... Go to the diplomacy screen and look at the planet they have. There should only be one, their home planet.

Then you can select the "Planet/Ship List" button, click on the foreign tab to display all the planets that does not belong to you. Find the planet, then left click on the planet image.

Well that worked! I thought the name above the picture was the race, and not the planet. However, having used that to find the home world of the race I wanted to attack I discovered a new quandry!

I used the above to find the minor race home planet, and conquered it. However, it appears that race must have had another planet too, not in the same star system, and suddently I was being attacked by a race I thought I had destroyed (come to think of it, I may not have seen the in-game movie about the race being destroyed).

So, is there any way to find the other planets of a minor race, and with 100% of the map explored I must have seen it once, without looking at every planet (I play with large or huge maps)?

For a major race I use the option to show controlled space, and then search that area of the map, but I don't believe th minor races gives that option.

Thanks guys. Good game, well done!

When you select a race, and click "speak to" button it lists all of their planets on the right. This is for the purpose of trading with them, but also lets you know what planets, techs, credits that they have. If they are still in game and have planets colonized you can look them up on the trade screen, and then find which star system it is attached to and go from there on the map.
