Fleet battle.

Uhm hello, after downloading the game from Stardock yesterday I gave it a few try and run into something weird.

In my first play I turn all the fleet battle on and have it display as "Full Battle" . Later I sent a custom ship of mine against a squadon of 3 AI's fighter. Well, ofcourse it's an easy guess I got rape. The thing is the battle does display in a seperate screen showing my ship. (firing a laser and then BOOM). But

+ why when it's 1 against 3 and the screen still display a 1 on 1. Meaning it's only 1 AI's ship is on screen. If it's actually 1 ship then the AI would lose because my custome built fighter is about 0.5 stronger then the AI, but I'm up against 3, so why not 3 on screen.

+ later I restart the game (without changing any option) and use the Core design instead (the defender), it's weak enough to I can group 3 of them into 1 fleet. Then I caught a lone AI fighter. I ordr the 3 defender (as a fleet) to attack, I win, but ... no battle screen. I saw my group shoot a laser at the figherOn The Map , samething happen when I blasted their other group near the planet or when I attack the station.

So anyone has an idea?

There a few options relating to when you see the battle screen. Make sure that you have always watch player ships checked, and show full fleet battles only if both sides are fleets unchecked. That should help ensure you always see the fancy battle screen.

I really don't understand the settings either. I finally foold around with it enough so that i get to see most of the battles in the cinematic style.

Still, sometimes the battles are played out with a one-two shot from the main screen and one fleet or the other blows up.

I think it has something to do with power difference. most of the times the game skips battles for me, is when i send large capital ships against a wing of fighters that are trashed in a single shot. But when i send them against medium/large/huge ships, the cinematic battle screen appears.
