questions and a bug

QUESTION: When I autopilot a constructor vessel unto any resource (doesn't matter which type) it inevitably creates a "mining starbase". Furthermore I have never seen starbases acutally having any effect in the under starbase bonusses details screen in a colony. Is this also a bug??

As to part 1, you can only build mining starbases on resources. If you want to build a military, influence, or economic starbase, move the constructor to an empty tile and hit the B key. If you don't want the constructor to auto build the mining starbase when it reaches a resource, you can disable it in the options.

As to part 2, I'm sure the bonuses are applying, its just that the information presented to the player through the tooltips and management screens is a bit lacking. Check back after today's patch and it may be better.

Add on to #2. Click on your starbase and select it. You'll see the starbase's circle of effect. If planet is in that area then there ya go! if its not.. build another one closer to that planet.

On your Planet page, press the 'Details' button (lower right) and you'll see what effect (if any) your star base is having on your planet

If you build an economy starbase, and add factory modules (and other modules that increase production) you will have the bonus listed in the details screen for any planets that are within the range of that starbase.

the only time you will see starbase bonuses in the colony window from my experience anyways is if it is an economy starbase with factory addons.
