My personal Star Destroyer!

I hope this works. This one took awhile but I think I came close to a classic Star Destroyer design. It's since been upgraded with a Harpoon missile launcher near the nose.

What am I missing here? How do you get to examine your ship up close like that instead of the small window? And how do you change the colors like this to make it darker? I've seen several screenshots posted like this.

These shots were taken from the game map, zoomed in tight. The colors were chosen on the game setup screen, my primary color is the silver/gray my trim color is black. Engine color is fluorescent green.

You can zooming in on ships both in the shipyard and on the galaxtic map using the middle mouse button (i.e., wheel). Your ship colors can be customized when setting up a new game.

How long did that take you to design. I too wish to know what race design you used to do that. I have found that the Altarians have a large/huge, not sure, design that could be made to look like a B5 Earth Destroyer. I started to work on it but quite because my laptop is too slow.

The hull is a Huge Terran one. The second on the list. It took about 45 min to get all the pieces in place.
