Bugs after loading game

Sorry if this was posted elsewhere...

I'm seeing a number of problems after loading a save game. (playing 1.0D)

1) I don't always get music. Sometimes I do, sometime I don't. If I don't, nothing seems to restore it (Ctrl M, messing with the audio controls, etc.)

2) I only intermittently get notifications for completed planetary projects and completed ship builds that were underway when I saved the game - even if it's several turns after I reload that they are completed.

3) Ship show their range as 0 until I end the turn (i.e. a ship's movement will be listed as 6/0 ).

Also, while I have your attention , is there a way to turn off the automatic queueing up of improvements after I research them? More specifically, the problem is when I research something that I may not immediately want - say Soil Enrichment - every planet that has eligible tiles automatically queues up Soil Enrichment projects even when there are still other empty tiles, so I have to go through all my planets and delete the projects. I figure there's got to be a way to stop this from happening, but I've had no luck in finding it.

Thanks

Thanks, of course I found that shortly after posting Still, it's tedious having to set each planet individually.

Also, I found the fix for #1. Toggling the Background Music checkbox off and then back on restored my music.

Also if you load game right after the battle you lost - "Next turn" button sometimes disapear.

Hi!
Playing campaign with 1.0D 008 (or sth. similar, latest patch anyway). After I reloaded saved game I noticed that NOTHING IS PRODUCED/RESEARCHED, when i press Next turn. Only in the turn thereafter the production actually happens.

Also, I got strange results from battles. I've been attacking a Yor planet with several colony ships in orbit. After each battle my flet had MORE movement points. It ended with 24, the last one battle giving about 6! I was also able to use all of them to move the fleet around.

I agree that there are MANY serious problems with saving and then reloading games. For instance, I play humans and do a lot of trading of techs. Therefore, I keep very close watch over all techs researched by whom and when.

But every time I save before my transactions and reload, EVERYONE who didn't have the techs before the saving, now do!!!

It's really, really frustrating because I was just about to make my money by selling to them.

If this happens often enough (and I imagine a lot of other hidden "beneath the hood" bugs have occurred) I don't think the game is really working at all like it should.

Aye, it seems that, in general terms, the load function is not correctly restoring the state of the game. Having been a game developer for about 15 years, I know that this is something that can easily happen and the result can often be a bear to track down - seemingly unrelated bugs or bugs that don't seem to be related to save/load but really are, bugs that don't manifest until many turns laters, internal (incorrectly restored) variables that affects player visible data in some obscure way, etc.

Theorhetically, you shouldn't be able to tell the difference in the game (from a code/data perspective) before a save and after a load, but it's apparent to me from playing and from reading the posts here that you have a general save/load game issue and you probably need to go over the state of the game before saving and after loading with a fine tooth comb to find those nasty little variables that you aren't restoring correctly.

YES! The load game delays production by a turn and generally alters all sorts of things. The production one definitely annoys me the most. I'm not sure if it is applied to the computer as well, which if it were, doesn't hurt much. But if not, then basically the computer would be getting massively extra turns on you when you are saving and loading, which is complete BS. This is the biggest bug I have found IMHO, and I hope it gets addressed in the next update right away so that when you save something, it saves it exactly (even if you have to make the save game files larger, I would prefer that).

I agree that this is the biggest bug outside of any remaining CTD bugs.

Something about knowing that the game I just loaded is not quite the same as the one I saved leaves me feeling uneasy... kinda when you see a hot girl from behind and then she turns around and you realize she's a he...
