AI star base placement
And transports...
from
GalCiv2 Forums
Two things I've noticed a lot of from the AI.
I've played on normal & intelligent. The AI seems to build a TON of starbases in their own territory, and not actually upgrade them, and even worse, they build them a million parsecs away in my territory, nowhere near their own territory, thus making them utterly useless.
AI also seems to have issues using transports. ESPECIALLY if I leave a planet undefended. Even with all my planets defended, at some point during a game they seem to decide that they'll just send wave after wave of undefended transports into my territory. I of course shoot them all down, but probably don't really need to, since all my planets are defended by one unit.
This seems to happen now & again even when the AI is actually making a real effort to invade... he'll send an escort in, but its behind the transport. Weird.
Anyway, I'll complete the praise abuse sandwich & say
Killer game. I'm more addicted than CIVIV. I like saying that. "CIVIV" hehe.
Cheers,
Vesson
