Economic slider suggestions, post them here

Use this thread for your economic suggestions.
Please read manual for how it is setup now.
I think its important that all suggestions stick with ...
Used capacity, that has an appropriate project, draws from treasury.
Unused capacity, either because globally set, or no project, merely doesn't draw from treasury.

This thread is not intended for bug reports.

My thoughts:
Empire policy
----
Slider 1: Research capacity: 0 - 100%
Function: % (0-100%) of research points that you convert from treasury towards your research project.

Slider 2: Manufacturing capacity: 0 - 100%
Function: % (0-100%) of manufacturing points that you convert from treasury towards military/social project.

Slider 3: Military spending: 0 -100% (Social spending would be 100-this)
Function: Breakdown of how total manufacturing points are broken into militaryshields/social hammers

Note: Under the current setup, the only way to convert planetary improvements that create Research points into manufacturing points (or vice versa) is to use the "Focus" planet policy. In addition, only in a limited amount. I would suggest that planetary tile improvements should never be able to converted to the opposite type. (social to military is ok and vice versa, but not manufacturing to research and vice versa)
--------------

Planet policy:
Only have focus button on military and social. Which would in limited amount move spending to military to social and vice versa.

Brilliant! (<- said with an Irish accent and a paper guiness glued to my paper hand). I wish that the game were set up like you say. Here are the names I would suggest for your 3 sliders,

Slider 1; "Research Funding"
Slider 2; "Manufacturing Funding"

Slider 3; "Manufacturing Focus". It would look different than the first two sliders to remind people that they are distributing the manufacturing points they funded in slider 2 between military and social projects. For example, it could be vertical and have a two-colored pie chart next to it.

Planet Policy (here I have a slightly different suggestion),

Each planet would have their own optional Manufacturing Focus slider that overrides the empire slider if desired. Such a slider would only be available for certain types of government (those that allow some regional control in the real world).

Also, I agree that any planet without a military or social project, should have the funding for that project never come out of the treasury (just like it happens in the real wold).

I close my eyes and wish that the economy worked in this way. It does not have to be exatly like this; I would be happy with anything that broke the research and manufacturing spending coupling. Until that happens, we will continue to be forced to have partially empty research and manuficaturing centers across all our civilizations no matter how much money we have to fund them. What a waste....
