Can ranges of ships be reduced?

galaxy is colonized too quickly

Especially on smaller maps, it just seems as if the whole galaxy gets colonized too quickly. So, can the ranges of ships be reduced? I would like to see more of a requirement of building starbases to extend range and taking of closer in systems. As it stands now I can move ships almost all the way across the smaller maps with the ranges as the game stands.

i think that beats the purpose of playing on a smaller map. If you wanna build starbase to extend range, play on larger map. Smaller maps are for quick games.

I would like to see an option similar to tech. I like making tech way slower and I would like to make range much smaller too. I like to slow the pace of the game down some, most of the time. If I am playing to be a stone cold killer I like things to go fast.

Eventually we plan to put in sliders that lets you take both logistics and range and magnify/reduce them between 50% and 200%.

Forget %200 make it %10000. What is the purpose of logistics any way? It adds nothing to game play. Any thing you can do with a fleet of 4 ships you can do with 2 fleets of 2. Why do game designers put the silly features that just make the game infuriating and just slows down the game. I am sick of waiting while 150 diffrent ships update their position when there is no good reason it couldn't of been done with one fleet. Learn from MOO, If its not going to enchance the game keep it simple. I thought I loved MOO because it was the only game out there but now I realize that was real game design... Ummm, websaber? Have you played the game a significant amount? Because I would not expect a comment like that from someone experienced with logistics. Logistics is HUGE. It determines the maximum fleet size an empire can maintain. If you have 2 fleets of 2 ships vs 1 fleet of 4 ships, you will probably lose assuming similar tech. (Yes, at a certain tech differential, it doesn't matter, but that's irrelevant.) Getting ahead in Logistics is an enormous advantage and adds a lot to gameplay. This game is about choices, and if you want to be a military power, Logistics can't be ignored.
