Missing Option Watch Opponents Ship Movement

I've just read the Manual and found there the option:
Watch Opponents Ship Movement
As I tend to sometimes not take a to good look around the map after a turn, I really would like to have those option, but could not
find it on the settings screen.

Will this feature be included in one of the next patches....

By the way my submitted Bug with Artifacts on the minimap (Ticket: JRL-859381) is valid with the new version:
1.01D.0008.

I agree. Id like to actualy see the movements through my space of people Im at war with.
Pretty standard setting for strategy games:
1. Follow all AI moves - toggle
2. Follow enemy moves - toggle

Half the time I dont even know Im being invaded till they attack Fleets can be really hard to spot as the little number under the fleet colored by race is the only way to see who it belongs to.

I 3rd....much like Civ.
I have been caught off guard by a transpor that may have just spent 2 or 3 sqrs in my sensors but I didn't notice.

An advantage of the furthest zoom of course but still. Would I think need some sort of smart filter. I really don't need to watch the mini trade ships and possible other filters but can't think of.

I 4th

This is a necesity at the moment when AI sends it suicide transports and constructors at will. I try to keep up with it, but some of em always slip by. Myros, you should write this into the brads suggestions stickyes if not alrdy there.

i 5th the motion. Having a "show / follow AI" toggle would be a plus. But I do find myself playing the game more "zoomed out" than utilizing the gorgeous galaxy displays.

Is there a hotkey to instantly full zoom out?

It's not a big deal using the mousewheel but as I play more and more, I am wanting to use "less" mouse and eye candy.

P.S. Just for giggles I loaded up my Alpha Centauri and played a brief 10 minutes and it did not surprise me at all, that my feelings about SMAC will never change. Of course I did want to immediately return to playing GC2, but SMAC and MOO2 are surely examples of TBS done right. And now GC2 is king of the roost.

Indeed. As much as I love the graphics it seems that I play most of my games at max (or almost) zoom. It's just more efficient. Sad, really. I want to spend more time closer in.

I think if you hit esc and bring up the menu there is the option on the left somewhere, look around where it has length of battles. It should be there.

Indeed - this is very much needed, especially on maps where pirates have begun operations. Nothing worse than a pirate armada you don't notice roving around the map deep in your territory that you don't really look at that often any more. I have lost a few starbases as a result. I have also had issues w/ transports that snuck through, despite being on sensors.

Ideally, there would be a toggle to even generate a pop-up warning when pirates or troop transports are detected by sensors in your territory.

No. There is a "follow autopilot ships" toggle, but it only works for your own ships.
