Big Bug? Ships and plantes not showing on map

I've searched the forums for a while now, but I can't seem to find anything that resembles the error i get when playing GC2. Ships are just grey images without colour (bouth in shipyard and on the map), and planets only show the rings and icons around them (Not the planet itself, I can still klick in on it though). I've tried bouth too adjust the different graphics settings and reinstall the game (through archive), but nothing seems to work.

I use Windows xp (Norwegain edition), 512 ram, 2.2 GHZ and my screen is set too 1024x768 resolution with 32 bit colour. I've got all the new drivers for my GeForce4 TI 4200, directX 9.C and the newest patch installed.

My computer isn't the best in the world.. but it should be good enough. The rest of the game runs just fine (except for a bug every now and then), so I can't imagine it's got anything to do with my computer. Anyone encountered this problem before / know what to do? Or if you just got a sugestion, then I'm all ears.

Have not seen this.

Hmm, honestly not sure since I have a PC with that combination and it seems fine. Are you using the drivers for your video card from nivida.com or from the manufacturer(hp, dell)? Not sure what else could be happening unfortunately.

I installed this game on a machine with an old Geforce 256 and had similar problems. I expect the solution to be with your graphics card drivers.

Thx for the replay guyes. I'm using the drivers from nvidia.com. My computer is a fujitsu, does that matter?
And did you find any solution Brian?

I suspect it's the video drivers.  However, someone a few hours posted a link to a utility that fools DirectX into thinking your card has more features.  That may be useful.  I'm not sure which post that was though.

Say that it is my video drivers that are the problem, wich do i need other than the regular nvidia.com drivers? It might sound a little silly, but I don't know much about drivers and video cards..

I have same problem than Veramitos (and same graphic card and drivers).
This bug is really uncomfortable

Yeah, it's pretty bad. I really like the game, but this is the kind of thing that make a great game merely good ;(
I just can't understand what's wrong... the computers, cards and drivers are good enough, so it doesn't make any sense. Hopefully someone who knows how to fix this will pop by sooner or later and give us a hint, so keep your fingers crossed Quarix

Sometimes, this kind of bug can be fixed by re-install old graphic card drivers but i don't really want try this because after others games don't run good (or just don't run)

The solution has been posted in the Sitcky Win2k and Europe (i have no idea of the link it, but it*s under the bug forum). Basicly it*s a bug with non/ English (USA) versions of windows. The developers are going to fix it, but for now the easy workaround is to change the windows language settings to English (US). Worked for me atleast
Good luck to the rest of you.
