Reloading gives free movement turns (new turn with same date, without production advances)

Reloading the game would give the player and AIs a free movement turn. In which the production / research will not be advanced. This happens almost everytime and easily recreatable.

How to recreate it :

Save a game with one of the planets having active production queues, record the weeks left for the current production.

Reload a game and make a turn.

Verify all available ships are given a new turn's movement points, and the production progress remain the same

I run into the same thing, I think there is a problem. When I start a new game and let's say I immediatly purchase a ship then I buy a factory when I click the turn button only the factory will be built and not the starship. The odd thing is the startship should only take one turn and not only that but the research tech was also set to be finished in 1 week never completed. The date also did not change however I can move my ships again. Then I hit turn again and my colony ship I purchased is built and the tech I researched is done. This happens every other turn it seems and Im begining to think it takes me hitting the turn button twice to advance one week. Do I need to uninstall and reinstall my game or something because it frustrates me when it says one week to build a factory or a tech or even purchase a ship then it takes me 2 times of hitting the turn button to complete and I think there is a problem.

While I've never actually seen a reason why this is so, it has been there since first release. I never played Galciv 1 so I can't say whether it was a function in that game too.... but for all that, it seems intentional even if I cant work out why it is so.

Maybe this should be moved to the bug reporting forum as it doesn't seem to be working right, Im not sure

Gentlemen,

Thank you... Time to cheat like hell

I get it, too, and I consider it a bug, too. However, hitting the "Turn" button twice is not the answer. The AI gets to move twice, too.

Right everyone gets to move twice and the what I do is play for an hour or 2 every night after the kids go to bed then I turn the computer off (when you have kids in the house they tend to want to hit the power button on things and I dont want them to destroy my pc) then boot it up the next night and after a couple of turns it works itself out it seems but it is very odd. Hopefully this gets fixed in the next patch.

I see that a lot too, and it irks me.

Sadly, yes, it does actually go back all the way to GC1. If it was intentional, well then it was simply bad intention.

I am enjoying this game immensely, and it has certainly come a long way from GC1, but I have to say that the save/reload code is just plain sloppy The free movement turns is far from the only save/reload issue, and all these issues/bugs really have quite a negative impact for those playing on gigantic maps, and with limited time for playing the game.

I've seen other posts saying that they simply leave the game running indefinitely, which is rather a bad statement about the game (and certainly not feasible for all of us).
