Two things that bug me...

Ok - I've been playing way too much since yesterday. First game I had no clue what I was doing (never play GalCiv 1 by the way). Then I discovered the tutorials and things are getting better.

However, two things have really been bugging me during play:

1. When using the mouse to scroll the map, the corners of the screen have really big dead spots that do not allow scrolling. Ugh. Also, setting the scroll speed to the highest possible is still REALLY slow.

2. When a new ship is built, you have to "launch" it. However, you cannot easily focus the display on the planet where the ship is built to perform the launch. There should be an option to center on the world where built to do the launch; I've had ships stacking up because I forgot to launch them. Ugh.

Great game otherwise - those tutorials REALLY helped. I was lost without them.

Right click on the ship built icon on the right edge of the screen to launch the ship and center on it.

If you LEFT click you goto the world that built it without launching it.

Don't use the side to scroll. Click empty space on the galaxy and drag. Much faster. Zoom out a bit for extra speed.

You can also click on the min-map and drag there. Very, very fast.

Cool - thanks to all. I'll try the suggestions and hopefully that will erase my complaints.

Also pushing "c" when you have something on map selected with auto center the camera on that object.

I noticed this in one of the reviews that's been posted:

"The only problem I really had with the controls is scrolling the screen. If you move the mouse to the bottom, where the interface options for the game are, the game itself would sometimes scroll the game and sometimes stay stationary, making it a bit annoying."

So it's not just me.
