Directions: Simply input the HP, attacks, and defenses of a ship at the top, then click the appropriate button to add a ship with those stats to the attacking or defending fleet. Results are not guaranteed accurate yet, for the reasons noted in the sim itself. But it's a good start

Enjoy, and please don't hammer my server

I was looking for this exact thing yesterday. Thank you much!
One suggestion (don't know how easy it would be to implement): Have the simulator run a few battles (say, 10) and display the results of each of them on one page.

As noted in the statistics thread I'll probably make an extended version later. This one will do for now though (space is limited since I wanted it to fit inside the forum here).

Good stuff Kryo.

Update: The simulator now tells specifically which side won, and provides a blow-by-blow account of the battle.

Not at the moment, as the sim is processed server-side.

As I guess, in this simulator the attack roll is 1 to maximum, and the defence roll is 0 to maximum. Is this true for the game?

Wonderfull. Thank you very much Darth Kryo.

A small glitch I found: I always get
Attacking fleet is victorious!

even when the defenders are victorious.

Eep, copy-paste mistake. Fixed now.

I haven't been able to get a straight answer myself, so that's just what I set it to do for now.

is my readin on this correct offense is always better then defence even when it is the right counter- for example 10 missle verse 5 missle def and 5 lazer attack 10 missle usually wins?

The formula has to be more complicated than the one being used in the simulator (no offense, it's not your fault that the devs haven't spilled the beans on the combat mechanics) because a little bit of defense seems to own up hard in the game against purely offensive ships of small and medium size.

The formulae in here are drop-dead simple, and according to the devs, correct. The only possible difference I can see is if there's a difference in the actual randomness of PHP and C's rand() functions.
