The first update

from GalCiv2 Forums

We've released our first update to Galactic Civilizations II.  This update includes a number of playability tweaks, user requested UI changes, and of course some bug fixes as well.

Because it's Friday and we wanted to get this up as quickly and painlessly as possible can, we have teamed up with Cachefly to put the update on there to ensure very fast downloads no matter where you live.  It's NOT available on Stardock Central, we'll do that on Monday when the IT people are all here.

NOTE: If you were in the beta, you may need to get your final game serial #. Go HERE and type in your email address and it will email your serial #.

Thanks for reply, Frogboy, however my serial number take me to the place where I can download the CE "enabler" I do not see the CE content download. If I put my serial number into the CE serial number field, then it says that the CE number is incorrect. HELP PLEASE!

Accoring to the Paradox forums, the serial numbers in the european release have been messed up. Supposedly the problem will be solved "within the next few days".

Good to know I am not the only one with this problem!
The game CTDs on me 50% of the times when I try to save a ship design, so I am a bit anxious to get the patch.

Installed patch. Now my tutorials and sound are gone. Retried the patch but didn't work. I don't see anything inside the tutorials folder. I decided to uninstall the Multimedia, movies and tutorials. I get an error and stardock central tells me that I can mark the items as uninstalled. I'm reinstalling now....

As of sunday night and monday morning I cannot download the D1 patch. When I click the link ojn this message it takes me to download.aspx page. When I click on the green download button for the D1 patch it takes me to registration.aspx. There is no link there to D\L the patch in regisration.aspx. and it says I am successfully registered

Now it takes me to collectorsEdition.aspx and I still can't download the patch. I don't want to put stardock central on this machine. The link to the patch is still broken!!!!! I'm fully registered but the link takes me to collectors edition page and not the patch. Are there any alternate locations?

You cant even DL it with Stardock Central installed, because it refuses the CE serial.
BTW: Cant you guys at Stardock just make the patch accessible at the CE download page? I we have the CE serial, it must mean that we have bought the game as well

Can't even find the patch is it the extra content, and how do I enter my special edition serial, with or without the -. I don't know if I have downloaded the patch because when I try to update from stardock after it gets passed the extraction it says error and I can install it so can you tell me whats wrong.
