2 Minor Bugs

I've crashed a few times times while trying to invade planets, but I can't repeat the problem. However, here are two minor issues I have run into that the devs may want to look at.

First, while in the planetary menu and trying to set where ships should rally once built, I cannot scroll down to additional rally points by clicking on the scroll bar. Here is a screenshot so you can see where it happens:

When I play games I use a Logitech marble mouse which does NOT have a scroll wheel. I happen to have a 2nd mouse hooked up that does have a scroll wheel, so I was able to scroll down to additional rally points by using the scroll wheel. I'm guessing that might be why this was missed because it seems the game was designed with the idea that everyone would use a scroll wheel. Many parts of the interface seems to rely on it. I'm still using the keyboard + and - keys to zoom. Forget what else the scroll wheel controls.

Second bug I have run into is this: if you set a rally point and build a starbase on top of it, you can't click the rally point in order to delete it. Here is a screenshot:

Now, next to the starbase I have a constructor. If I move the constructor to the rally point (and choose not to build a starbase module) then the window that was showing the starbase information will now show the starbase, ship, and rally point. At that point I can select the rally point through that window and delete it. So, at least there is a workaround. Here is a screenie:

I don't know if the above issues have been reported before, but I hope they help.

I think you guys are great btw. It's a pleasure spending money on games made by a developer who really cares about their product and communicates with customers. I've been a fan since the initial release of Gal Civ 1 and I made my pre-order purchase for Gal Civ 2 in March 2006 so I could playtest the beta. I wish you much success in the future while I lose many hours of sleep while building my empire.
