Everything working fine

Just noticed the deluge of problem messages

I pre-ordered the download version. Everything worked flawlessly and I am having great fun. Just wanted to thanks the developers for a great game. I have been in development myself and know it can be frustrating to see the problems of the minority drown out the appreciation of the majority. Registering my support on behalf of those too busy playing to post

Installed the game and it seems to be pretty cool and fun. I thank you for the way the Serial Key is setup as well. It was nice being able to use the 10pad with the right hand and the left hand to type the letters. First time i've seen a developer do that. Shows you were watching out for our best interest.

Yes, let the appreciation flow. They do deserve it all the way to Jerusalem!

Re: the download....

I'd highly suggest not getting frustrated by the early transfer speed.... When I started, 13-20 kb/sec -- but after a few minutes, speed kicked up to 500+ -- and what looked it might be a couple hour DL actually only took about 10-15 minutes (and no pre-order/pre-install....sorry!! Guess I'm one of the bandwith hogs screwing everyone else . I'm one the people that will usually get frustrated and jump from one mirror to another -- but having no such option here, I'd just also suggest patience with DL.

So far - agree. I thought Civ IV gameplay really suffered with the introduction of so much eye candy -- but just from a few quick turns in a few games, kudos to the developers! It's not that I don't LIKE eye candy and the like -- just that I play strategy/turn-based games rather than the latest X-Box release for a reason. It's a rare and quite commendable effort --- slicker look and feel, but actually ADDS to an excellent title rather than trading gameplay for 3-D and the like. Seriously great job on keeping sight of what made GalCiv such a great game to begin with

I am having minor issues with game setup (for some reason - even on gigantic galaxies, can't seem to go beyond 4 civs, plus some issues with custom race setup) --- but let me echo the kudos above.

Just from an hour of play -- I can already see countless hours of enjoyment ahead of me.

Yea, I want to add to this thread. The reason it appears there are so many problems is that all the people for whom it has worked fine (which is by far, most of them) are too busy playing to post. I'm only not playing because I'm in class, but I wanted to add how awesome GalCiv2 is.

I just want to say that Stardock has really outdone themselves. GC1 was good... this well idk if you can call it an instant classic from 2 hours of play but it sure does come close. Congrats Stardock.

Yep. Gotta add to the luff here. I had the sucker downloaded and running by 12:54PM EST. I have a post at 12:56PM EST to prove it. Was I the first? And if so, do I get a medal or something?

I sincerely feel bad for the people that had/are having problems. I am completely sucked in by the whole gaming experience. It was everything I hoped for and more.

What else can I say?

Way to go Brad and the rest of Stardock. You have a steady customer here. And I'm e-mailing everyone that I know to tell them to buy the game. yet again.

Pre-DLed fine.
Got game running fine.
No major problems.

ALT+TAB is iffy and there's a bunch of questionable behavior I'd have to call bugs.

Just have to add here.

Downloaded the final part early this morning (3am GMT -- insomnia), which started a little slowly, but jumped up to speed really quickly (it was done in about a minute, 2 at the most).

The game is absolutely gorgeous, a joy to be immersed in and plays flawlessly on my system.

Well done Stardock!
