hell yeah it was! i spent the last 2 weeks at work editing a 270-page anthology of student essays, which included embedded images; greek, hebrew, arabic and korean script, various different citation formats (that i had to standardize), and numerous typos. but i got the f*cking thing done, and if i weren't so damn broke this month i'd have opened a bottle of champagne on friday to celebrate. instead i'm playing TA, which doesn't give me a headache or cost me any more money--and it's almost as good as being drunk.

Congratulations on the big score! Looks like you have the single highest scoring game as well now. Given the year/score, I'm surprised you didn't roll it out a couple more years and shoot for the ever elusive million point game. I suspect it will be a while before anyone else joins the 900K club!

Actually I had 930K at 6 years and only got 27K for the 7th year. The 6th year itself was worth a bit over 100K. I suppose I could have stretched it to the 1 million mark but it would have been well past the point of diminishing returns and it probably would have taken at least another 2 if not 3 years. That wasn't the way I wanted to get to the 1 million mark.

I actually think there's still some room for improvement that puts 1M within the realm of the possible.

Yeah the double gold is kind of nice. I do have to admit that I replied to a few threads partially just to see more of it.

I was pretty excited with the last two games, 400K which blew past my 300k goal. What's really wierd is they both have the exact same score, what are the odds of that? Anyway, I think I'm getting the hang of it

Yeah, it's always nice to blow out a goal.

I still think going from 100K to the mega scores is easier than getting to 100K. It really is good to see another person popping up those numbers.

I haven't managed the same score twice yet...Don't expect to ever do that!

It looks like you have a pretty good clip going for getting through the games as well. That is at least as big of a challenge as anything else on those Gig games. In fact, the time gap between your games is pretty darn impressive. I know I can pop a DL 400-500K game in a full weekend plus a work day or two now, but I'm not anywhere near that fast on DA. DA is still more of a two to three week project for me given my available time. I have done some playing with TA and it seems to have an even slower pace for me.

One more mega game and you should have yourself a new shiny bronze medal! I think that would make the first time the GD's have had a top three sweep going on the offical MV!

I've been working on shortening the time it takes to play a game as well as improving the score and I have a few tricks now. Of course I still have to suffer the monotony of building every single planet, but I've got the whole military rating thing mostly hands off. If only there was a "buy all ships of a type building on all planets" and a "buy all projects of a type building on all planets" function. I'm hoping to see some tedium buster functions in TA, but I'm not getting my hopes up. They just don't seem to focus on the big game that much.

There is an issue with the Galactic Diplomats empire that we've just become aware of. Basically the Diplomats have always been an open empire but it's just recently become obvious that somehow or other the Diplomats have been inadvertently switched to a moderated empire.

This means that potential members of the Diplomats would have had to put in a request to join that requires emperor approval. The problem is that Drengin is semi-retired and senators are unable to approve membership requests. From everything I can determine this condition may have existed unknowingly for a month or more. I do want to extend an apology to anyone whose request for membership was apparently ignored because this was totally unintentional.

Although semi-retired, Drengin still shows up both here and at the Core and we've sent a number of PM's and emails to him to correct this issue. I doubt it will be too long before this will be fixed. In the meantime I just want to make sure people are aware of the situation so they would not be put off by a pending membership request. Also if there is anyone in this condition (besides Rexman, whose access should be ready shortly) please let us know so that we can give you access to the Diplomats private forum at the Core.

It looks as if our empire has been returned to an open empire status again. If you would like to join, you should be able to do so by simply clicking on the "join empire" button in the empire listing screen.

That's one thing that's nice about Metaverse, you don't have to make colossal scores to get up there. Of course, sitting at the top with only a few games on record says a lot. Don't think I'll ever do *that*. Looks like I've hit a barrier. I thought I nailed it with that last game because I shaved off almost a year with the same rating, but no score help. Guess I need to go bigger, not shorter.


I noticed that as well, guess that makes me MVP for the day, hehe.

Well sure, but it's most definitely friendly.

I can't crank them out as quickly as Craig but at the moment I do seem to have the edge in score.

However I do want to point out something that has come to my attention as illustrated by the following screenshot.



Note the 2 year 2 million point small galaxy game and the 2 year 450K small galaxy game. Other than these games the other games posted are rather mundane. I can think of no legitimate way to achieve these kinds of scores although I guess others could say the same about mine. However mine have many other similar games posted that are at least within the same order of magnitude. 2 million points in a 2 year small galaxy. No possible way.

Hehe, I'll enjoy my gold while I can. I was going to say, Mumble only has to post one of his mega-scoring games to blow past me, but it's cool being #1 for a little while at least. I've taken advantage of the fact you can climb the rankings by posting a lot of shorter games. It's more fun that way because the conquest part is most enjoyable and I can do that more. I did do some score grinding on that last one and it was kind of a drag so I may stick with the lower scoring game. Though, I may not be playing *too* many more games until after TA is released.

Re. that 2M game, *I* sure don't get it.

Oh i'm trying....i have moved up to painful and look to be on crippling soon. But i doubt i will ever play suicidal to the degree of success you guys do.

I do not understand though, how it is within the realms of possibility to score not only the games you have highlighted Mumble, but also game 3 on that profile. A 1 year Beyond Mortality win on beginer for 94K.
